"Crafty" Folks Make A Difference

06.20.16 | Compassionate Ministries, Women's Ministries | by Linda Hayne

Compassionate Crafters are friends and members of the Sun City Church of the Nazarene who use their crafting talents to bless others.  A big "Thank You" to all the ladies for their work in the following.....

    Current Projects:

    •   Salvation Hats for the Jesus Film Project.  These hats are used to present the Gospel in areas that are difficult to reach in any other way due to language barriers.
    • Also for the Jesus Film Project, EvangeBracelets which will help support the JFP teams.
    •   Cancer Hats for the children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.  This is a fun project in which we make Disney hats of unique characters for the children who have temporarily lost their hair due to chemo treatments.
    • Baby items such as booties, blankets and clothing for babies at The Choices Pregnancy Center of Peoria, AZ.  These items are presented to new moms providing a bonding tool during the pregnancy process.

An exciting project which was recently completed included the making of 130 hats for Operation Mary!, a ministry to three orphanages in The Ukraine.  Delivered by Work and Witness teams from different states, Compassionate Crafters were blessed to play a part in it.

Compassionate Crafters meet at the church, 14636 N. Del Webb Blvd in Sun City, Arizona, every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m.  It’s a time of learning new skills, meeting new friends and enjoying great fellowship as we crochet, knit and craft together.
